Kings of Israel

Date Preached: 8-27-17
Title: Kings of Israel

In the Old Testament King followed King followed King; Often the new king was the son of the previous king. Some kings did good/right in the sight of the Lord, but most did not. Even when there was a good and godly king, like Hezekiah or Josiah, more often than not his son was an evil king. And, if the father was an evil king, sometimes, somehow, the son would be a good and godly king. We would think that if there would be a gradual change, but that is not what we observe. Each king did what each king chose to do independent of what his father or predecessors did. It becomes evident that each and every person has to decide to follow the Lord or not. It was true of the kings of Israel/Judah and it is true of us.
