Love Limits Liberty

For many Americans every question may be answered by liberty: "If it is my liberty, it is my right… and I am free to do what I want!"For the Christian though, liberty,rights and freedom, are all to be limited by the love we have for our brother whose conscience may be damaged by the exercising of our liberty. We may have knowledge of the truth that grants us liberty, but we should be more concerned about our brother's well being then our own freedom. Our text today from 1 Corinthians chapter 8, speaks of love and how it relates to our relationship with our brother. Love includes limiting our own actions for our brother's sake. Specifically, the Christians in Corinth had questions about eating meat that had been sacrificed to idols. The answers Paul gives to their questions force us to focus on what it means to be our brothers keeper.
