A Christian Cake

Date Preached: 3/12/2017
Sermon Text: Colossians 2:20-23
Sermon Title: A Christian Cake

How would you describe your own relationship with Jesus? There are people who are relatively good, moral, and responsible and do not have Christ. If Christ was extracted from your life, would you look like one of them? How much would your life change?

There are religious, church attending, praying, people of faith who do not have Christ. If everything about Christ was vacuumed from your life, how much would your life change?

Being a disciple of Jesus, a Christian, means that Christ is our life. Apart from Christ we are left with nothing and trying to live a life as a Christian without Christ is nonsensical. However, if Christ is our life, then we are protected from deception and distraction, theologically and practically.

If our hope is in the coming of our king, then we are eagerly waiting for that blessed hope that will make all wrongs right and will make all suffering and sacrifice on this earth insignificant. Because, the present suffering of this life is not even worthy to be compared to the glory that is to be revealed to us.
