It is the King's Choice

We tend to be “Either – Or” people; We think . . .Either God chooses OR Man chooses. AND then we reason If God chooses, then Man has no choice BUT If Man chooses, then it is out of God's realm. But this pattern of thinking is uninformed by the revealed truth in God's Word, the Bible. Have you ever read these verses in Proverbs? Proverbs 16:33 says, “The lot is cast into the lap, But its every decision is from the LORD.”. The random processes, the mathematical calculations of odds are not solely governed either by chance nor by the odds – But God is the one who determines the outcome. (is not that what it says) Proverbs 21:1 says, "The king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the LORD; He turns it wherever He wishes". Unlike our president, a king was completely sovereign and answered to no earthly authority apart from himself. The king did what the king's heart desired . . . yet, what does the verse say? God turns the kings heart like diverting a stream of water. As a child spent hours and hours playing in the water . . . built dams, made pools, diverted the flow of little streams this way or that. God's controlling the heart of the king is that way. Proverbs 16:9 says, " The mind of man plans his way
, But the LORD directs his steps. We make our plans, we seek to execute our plans, but things always turn out according to God's plans.
