Following is Required of Followers

Our relationship with Jesus is pictured as a Shepherd with his sheep.

Before Salvation we strayed by going our own way, setting our own priorities, and serving our own purposes. We were alienated and hostile to God.

But Salvation changed us. We began following the Shepherd. We started looking to the Shepherd for guidance, and following his lead. We choose to go His way rather than our own way.

Following in the steps of Jesus is specifically what is in focus in our text today. Somehow many people think they can be a Christian and continue to go their own way. This is simply NOT true! Lets take a closer look at this!
